STUART, FL -- A Martin County jury awarded former Ethan Allen retailer Treasure Coast Interiors Inc. $1.5 million in lost profits, agreeing with the plaintiff that it was unfairly terminated as an Ethan Allen dealer in July 2007.
According to TCPalm.com, the jury found that Ethan Allen did not give the retailer, now out of business, sufficient notice that it would no longer sell its furniture line. The furniture manufacturer and retailer had a 14-year relationship. Ethan Allen's defense team reportedly contended that the 7-month was consistent with industry practices.
Treasurer Coast Interiors had sought $6 million to $19 million in its lawsuit.
