LEESBURG, Va. – Rehau has announced the winner of the Best in Modern Cabinetry contest, Woodperfect Custom Cabinetry, Inc. The family-owned, Texas cabinet manufacturer won the contest by receiving 190 likes on their Facebook project photo. They will be awarded an Apple Watch Sport at the International Woodworking Fair later this month.

Rehau teamed up with Woodworking Network to create the first Best in Modern Cabinetry contest. Entries were accepted from June 13 to July 15 and later uploaded to Woodworking Network’s Facebook page. Voters selected their favorite entry by liking the photo. Voting was open to the public until August 1.

Woodperfect Custom Cabinetry of Forney, Texas, surpassed the competition with 190 likes and 17 shares on their project photo. They titled their entry “Sapele Project” and provided the details of the materials used on their project, which was part of a complete house renovation, from an original 1970s Spanish-style home. The customers of this kitchen, both experienced architects, had a detailed vision in mind for their renovation. Woodperfect Custom Cabinetry helped transformed their clients’ enclosed space into an open kitchen with a streamlined design.

Regina Hill, owner, account manager and designer at Woodperfect Custom Cabinetry, was aware of Rehau before The Best in Modern Cabinetry contest, since she attended a Rehau meet-and-greet in Dallas about three years ago. Hill said she wanted, “…to get a jump on the market because we knew European style was coming this way. Our marketplace is just now embracing this modern look, and as it becomes more prevalent in Dallas, we’re going to have more opportunities to use Rehau products.”

Woodperfect Custom Cabinetry was started in 1963 and is still a family-owned business. Hill began handling sales and design for the company 15 years ago with co-owner Scott Comstock, who manages woodworking and installation. Comstock also holds the office of treasurer with the Cabinet Makers Association.

Jesse Collins, Rehau senior marketing specialist, commented, “We would like to thank each and every person who entered the Best in Modern Cabinetry contest. Drawing attention to the rise of modern design and our new modern cabinet door line with this social media contest was a wonderful new experience for us. We really enjoyed seeing all of your modern designs.”

Comstock and Hill will both be attending IWF August 24 to 27 in Atlanta, Georgia where they will receive their prize of an Apple Watch Sport at Rehau’s booth No. 4735, Hall B. North American Web site: www.na.Rehau.com.

All modern cabinetry projects (frameless, slab-style doors) installed in the United States or Canada were eligible. Use of Rehau’s high-gloss, polymer glass and matte surfaces was welcomed but not required.
