#1 Connecticut cabinet company goes up in flames (Posted January 28, 2025)
 As the Dean family watched firefighters from more than 10 communities battle the fire that was consuming their more than 16,000 square foot factory in Bolton, Connecticut, it would soon become apparent that it was a total loss. 

#2 Olon Industries plans to close Lexington plant (Posted January 28, 2025)
Canadian component parts-maker Olon Industries Inc. plans to close its largest North American facility in Lexington, North Carolina, by May 30. The closure of the 220,000-square-foot plant would eliminate 53 jobs at the facility.

US LBM, a privately-owned distributor of specialty building materials in the United States, has acquired Walker Lumber & Supply, a building products distributor in Nashville.

 

#4 Iconic, family-owned Thos. Moser furniture sold to holding company (Posted  January 15, 2025)
Thos. Moser, an iconic name in handcrafted American furniture, has been acquired by Chenmark, a family-owned holding company based in Maine. 

#5 Cabinet shop manager arrested for allegedly committing fraud (Posted January 19, 2025) 
Palm Bay police detectives arrested Christopher Michalak, the manager of Oceanside Cabinets, on Thursday, January 16, on multiple felony charges related to alleged fraudulent crimes.

#6 Cabinet manufacturer expands operations with mall purchase (Posted February 3, 2025)
Willmar Wood Products, a cabinet manufacturer specializing in commercial cabinetry in Minnesota, has moved into a new location. The building used to be the site of a Herberger's Department Store, located in uptown Willmar. 
 

#7 Plant closure, plant acquisition, profit sharing, and more top trending stories  (Posted January 14, 2025)
In this recap of the most-read stories from December 13, 2024, to January 13, 2025, American Woodmark was the most widely read story. The cabinet company is closing its plant on March 24 in Orange, Virginia, and will lay off 131 employees.

Dorel Industries Inc. is closing one factory and undertaking a "significant restructuring of [its] Home segment," which has reported struggling sales for multiple quarters.
