American Woodmark plans to close a long-time plant in Orange, Virginia,and will lay off 131 employees at its Orange facility on March 24.

Woodgrain Inc. and Jeld-Wen Holding Inc. have entered into an asset purchase agreement for the sale of Jeld-Wen's Towanda, Pennsylvania, plant to Woodgrain. The deal concludes a multi-year antitrust legal battle between Jeld-Wen and Steves & Sons.

#3 Andersen employees divvy up $50.8 million in 2024 profit sharing (Posted January 10, 2025)

Andersen Corporation, a manufacturer of windows and doors, announced it would distribute $50.8 million in profit sharing for 2024 representing up to $3,923 for each of its eligible 13,000 employees.

#4 Laguna Beach police arrest former CFO/Controller in business fraud case (Posted December 26, 2024) 
A furniture manufacturer based in Laguna Beach has reportedly been the victim of a significant financial fraud scheme allegedly carried out by its former Controller/CFO, Rebecca Buehler. She has been charged by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office with seven felony counts of grand theft, including an enhancement for theft exceeding $100,000.

#6 SBA Home to open first North American furniture plant in NC (Posted December 18, 2024)
Furniture maker SBA Home has selected Mocksville, North Carolina, as the site of its first North American furniture production facility. The company said it will invest more than $70 million to establish the plant, and will create 250 jobs in Davie County.

#7 Wood-Mizer opens new authorized sales center in Michigan (Posted January 6, 2025)
Wood-Mizer, a global sawmill and woodworking equipment manufacturer, has opened a new Authorized Sales Center in Linden, Michigan.

#8 Two dead in plane crash that struck an upholstered furniture manufacturer (Posted January 2, 2025)
Two people were killed and 19 injured when a small plane crashed through the rooftop of a furniture manufacturing building in Fullerton, California, on Thursday, Jan. 2.
