LAKEPORT, CA -- Piedmont Lumber & Mill Company has entered into an agreement with an undisclosed buyer, in which the buyer will acquire Piedmont’s remaining lumber yard and retail store in Lakeport.
Piedmont closedthe Lakeport retail store on Monday, July 26, in order to allow the buyer to transition the store and inventory for a re-opening under the new company’s name in early August.
Long-ime Piedmont owner William Myer, Jr. lamented the losses suffered by the company during the severe downturn in the economy and the tragic fire that destroyed Piedmont’s Walnut Creek location.
Recently, Piedmont completed the sale of its Pacheco Door division to Craftsman Collective Inc., owned and operated by Rob Myer. Craftsman Collective is an architectural millwork specialist focused on doors, windows, moldings, and finish carpentry.
