NUEMARKT, GERMANY - Pfleiderer AG generated first-quarter revenue of 355.6 million euros ($452.8 million), less than 1% below the 358.0 million euros ($455.8 million) it closed at in the prior-year period.
“Developments in the first three months of the year 2010 show that we are still some distance away from so-called normality, said Hans Overdiek, chairman of the executive board of Pfleiderer. “But meanwhile, they also give us good reason for cautious optimism. We are now in a situation of a significant revival of demand, leading to good or very good capacity utilization. This allows us to adjust our prices.”
Among Pfleiderer’s global wood products holdings is Uniboard, with panel mills in the United States and Canada.
