Peoria's Specialty Wood Works is auctioned

- Specialty Wood Works of Peoria, Inc. will auction its automated woodworking equipment, including CNC machining centers, 6-head moulder, wide belt sander, as well as a gang rip saw, vacuum coater, dust collection system. The wood inventory for the custom architectural millwork firm will also be sold.

Family owned and operated since 1968, Specialty Wood Works describes itself as focused on "historical restoration, reproductions and custom wood products," and as one of the largest privately owned mills in the area between St. Louis and Chicago, and its "mill work manufacturing facility features state of the art equipment and highly trained craftsmen.

Specialty Wood Works details its manufacturing process at its website, beginning with top grade FAS kiln dried hardwood lumber which is then rough sawn on the laser guided rip saw to the appropriate dimension for the millwork to be produced: The rough sawn millwork lumber then makes its way through the six cutter-head industrial molder to emerge as one of our many trim and molding products. A CNC router capable of high volume wood parts production and carved relief custom wood designs produced panels, arches, barrail corners, custom wood signs, and stop fluted items.
