The week's top wood industry report was OSHA's fine of Tricon Timber, a large privately-held sawmill in Montana. Tricon was cited for repeat safety violations and fined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The past week was loaded with news about the Atlanta International Woodworking Fair, which ended Saturday. Attendance was up significantly over the 2010 edition, a product of a recovering housing market and pent-up demand, according to CEO Pat LaFramboise.
