Online furniture retailer Wayfair expands big in Georgia, adds 1,000 jobs

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Wayfair Inc., an online retailer of furniture and home decor, will bring 1,000 jobs in Georgia with the building of a 1 million square foot facility in Savannah. Wayfair will invest $45 million into the facility over the next five years. 
 
“We are excited to expand our team in Georgia as we continue to scale our logistics operations to support the rapid growth of our business,” said James Savarese, Wayfair’s chief operating officer. “We look forward to contributing to economic development in the region with the creation of 1,000 new jobs and the opening of this new, state-of-the-art facility.”
 
The Boston-based company employs close to 11,000 people at offices and warehouses throughout North America and Europe.
