LEITCHFIELD, Ky. - Contract furniture leader OFS Brands will invest $1 million in its manufacturing facility in Leitchfield, Kentucky, creating 105 full-time jobs.
The $1 million investment will go toward a new production line and general facility improvements, said OFS. Since the company’s acquisition of Highmark in 2015, it has seen a boost in demand for ergonomic, mechanical-operated seating – also known as performance seating – throughout the U.S. and globally. The expansion of the Leitchfield facility will nearly double its operational output and allow the company to produce two new products to meet customer demand.
“We feel that this location provides our best opportunity to continue to provide the best products to our customers and we look forward to recruiting new associates to our workforce along with the added investments we plan to make in Leitchfield,” said OFS CEO and President Hank Menke.
OFS was approved for $1 million in tax incentives by the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based incentive allows a company to keep a portion of its investment over the agreement term through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments by meeting job and investment targets.
Founded in 1937 and headquartered in Huntingburg, Indiana, OFS operates 10 manufacturing plants and saw sales of $330 million in 2017. The company operates over 1.5-million-square-feet of manufacturing space, employs 1,850 employees, and owns a subsidiary, Bryan Ashley. OFS is the tenth largest contract furniture in the FDMC 300.
