WEST OLIVE, MI – According to mlive.com, the latest survey from Michael A. Dunlap & Associates said the office furniture industry continues to grow, although business “is showing signs of weakness.” The quarterly index, which is based on surveys with executives at furniture makers and suppliers, registered a 55.62 in October on a scale of one to 100.
When compared with the previous quarterly index of 58.49 in July, the new data reflects the steady lowering of industry performance and expectations during 2007. Reportedly, the October reading is the lowest index ever registered for a third quarter and stands below the average of 56.96 over the last 14 quarters, Dunlap said. Read more.
