BURNS, Tn. - The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) will partner with Middle Tennessee Lumber (MTL) for Manufacturing Day, an event to be held at MTL’s mill location in Burns, Tennessee on Oct. 6.

Since 2012, Manufacturing Day has been an annual celebration of modern manufacturing. With the number of participation increasing, members of communities are invited to manufacturing facilities in an effort to educate them about career opportunities and to improve public perceptions about jobs in manufacturing.

"Middle Tennessee has been a tremendous supporter of NWFA’s efforts to attract new generations to the industry, and this is just another example of their commitment to improving the industry as a whole," said Stephanie Owen, NWFA education and member engagement director. "Our hope is that we can use this event as a catalyst to develop additional programs for other NWFA members throughout the country."

The event will include a factory tour, a presentation, and a hands-on activity designed to help participants gain insight into the careers available in the lumber and wood flooring industries.
