VICKSBURG, Miss. - Industrial Wood Products (IWP), a maker of wood pallets, crates, and siding, will open a manufacturing facility in Mississippi - investing $2 million and adding 50 jobs over the next four years.
The plant will help IWP better serve customers along the Gulf Coast by improving shipping times. It will be the North Carolina-based company's first venture into Mississippi.
Industrial component manufacturing operations and a paint line will both be featured at the new facility, which will be housed inside an existing Mississippi building. The industrial division will include cut-to-length, resawing, ripping, notching and grading capabilities to service pallet and crate manufacturers. The paint line will be used for the company’s existing Rustic Collection product line, which includes pre-stained shiplap boards to be sold in retail stores across the U.S.
“Our company is excited to have chosen Mississippi and Vicksburg as our location for this project. We found in Vicksburg a set of unique location advantages that will be of great importance to our company as we continue to grow our market share and expand our business,” said Industrial Wood Products President Ryan Hilsinger.
Mississippi is loaning $200,000 for renovations and providing $20,000 to reduce water runoff.
