Newsweek names ‘America’s Most Trustworthy Companies’

Newsweek, in collaboration with market research partner Statista, has compiled its second annual listing of the Most Trustworthy Companies in America. This year we've listed 700 U.S. companies in 23 industries according to their evaluations by U.S. customers, employees and investors.

Of those selected included several in the wood products and related industries including Jeld-Wen, Andersen Corporation, Armstrong World Industries, and American Woodmark were included in this list. For a complete list of companies, click here.

Researchers, according to Nancy Cooper, Newsweek's global editor-in-chief, looked at a pool of 3,100 U.S. based companies (1,800 publicly held and 1,300 privately held) with revenues over $500 million. Their rankings were based on the results of an independent survey from a sample of about 25,000 people in the U.S. who were asked how much they agreed with statements like "I trust in this company to treat me fairly as its customer," "I believe this company offers good opportunities for career development" and "I believe this company would be a good long-term investment."

JELD-WEN is the top windows and doors company in the construction industry category. The company is one of only 15 publicly traded companies on the list headquartered in North Carolina and one of eight in Charlotte, the company’s global headquarters location.

“It is an honor for JELD-WEN to be named as one of America’s Most Trustworthy Companies for the second year in a row,” said CEO William J. Christensen. “This recognition is a testament to the company’s values-driven culture and the emphasis we place on building strong relationships, offering high-quality, innovative products and consistently delivering on our promises.”

Chris Galvin, president and chief executive officer at Andersen Corporation, manufacturer of windows and doors said: “More than ever, consumers are looking beyond product offerings and capabilities to inform their purchasing decisions and are seeking to support companies whose values align with their own. This recognition reflects Andersen’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of excellence, integrity and our efforts to fulfill the promise that everyone benefits from their association with Andersen.”
