NeoCon hosts 5 keynote speakers

CHICAGO -- Keynote speakers have been announced for NeoCon, a contract furnishings show set for June 13-15 at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart.

The keynote programs are open to trade professionals for $25.

Matt Petersen, president and CEO of Global Green USA, will speak at 8 a.m. on June 13. Petersen has established himself as an authority on energy, sustainability and social innovation, and has built Global Green USA into an organization which helps improve the lives of those in need and ensure a healthy environment for generations to come.

Amy Wells, an Emmy-nominated film and TV set decorator, will speak at 8 a.m. on June 14. She was the set decorator for the first three seasons of AMC’s Mad Men, as well as the movie features: Clueless, The Phantom, American Pie, There Will Be Blood, A Single Man, the Emmy–nominated HBO Series From the Earth to the Moon, and the L.A. movie scenes for Sex and the City.

Also on June 14, at 1 p.m., will be Architectural Digest Editor-in-Chief Margaret Russell. She has been active in promoting the design community through charitable work both locally and nationally, and is a trustee of God’s Love We Deliver, having previously served on the boards of DIFFA and the Alpha Workshops. Russell also is the author of several books, including Designing Women: Interiors by Leading Style Makers; So Chic: Glamorous Lives, Stylish Spaces; and Style & Substance: The Best of ELLE DÉCOR.

Following Russell's presentation, Henrik Fisker, co-founder/CEO of Fisker Automotive, will speak at 3 p.m. on June 14. A leading automobile designer, Fisker is best known for his creation of the Aston Martin DB9, Aston Martin V8 Vantage and BMW Z8.

Ed Begley Jr., actor and environmentalist, will present at 8 a.m. on June 15.  Begley has served as chairman of the Environmental Media Assn. and the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, and has received awards from environmental groups including the Natural Resources Defense Council and The Coalition for Clean Air. He currently lives near Los Angeles in a self-sufficient home powered by solar energy.
