Laurel Didier, publisher of Closet & Organized Storage, organizer of the event, noted that 2020 marks the 15th anniversary of the first national closets conference held in conjunction with the Texas Woodworking Show in 2005. “We’re excited to be celebrating the 15th anniversary where it all started,” Didier said. “The Arlington Convention Center is at the heart of where the action is being next to the homes of the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Six Flags and the new Texas Live entertainment district.”

Didier shared some key highlights of the three-day event.

Keynote speaker: Barry Moltz, small business coach and host of the weekly Small Business Radio show in Chicago, has been signed to deliver the keynote speech to open up the Cabinet & Closets Conference on Wednesday, March 11. “Barry is an expert on small business, management, marketing, closing sales, and keeping your brand strong. He is a perfect fit for our audience which is predominantly made up of entrepreneurs,” Didier said. “His presentation will set the tone for the entire conference program to help closet and cabinet pros do a better job of marketing, branding and sales.”

Bus tour: Didier said visits to the factory of First Source Cabinet Doors and the showroom of Techline Furniture, Cabinetry & Closets have been confirmed.  The tour is sponsored by Felder Machinery. The company manufacturer of thermofoil cabinet doors will host a post-tour reception. “They use high-tech CNC machines and pressing equipment to produce their doors used for kitchen and closet cabinets." .

Top Shelf Design Awards reception: The Top Shelf Design Awards and networking reception will be held at AT&T Stadium, the $1.1 billion home of the Dallas Cowboys., sponsored by CCF Industries. “We’re super excited about having our award program and networking reception in the Draft Kings lounge right on the 50-yard line,” Didier said. Closets & Organized Storage will begin accepting entries for the prestigious Top Shelf Awards on Nov. 1.

Two shows, one ticket: “Where design meets technology” is the tagline of the co-located events that will feature woodworking machinery, software, hardware, components and more used to design and manufacture cabinets, closets and other interior wood products. The expo admission includes access to a world of products lined up by both Cabinets and Closets and WPE. “Putting on a high-quality conference attracts a higher-caliber attendee because they are investing time and time into improving their businesses,” Didier said. “I think it’s important for vendors to exhibit what’s new and exciting to find new potential customers but to meet with their current customers. We know that from every research project we have done that smaller shops cannot afford to take three or four days to visit a massive trade show, but when there is one in their backyard they’ll go.”

Industry partners: The 2020 CCCE and Wood Pro Expo are supported by the Association of Closet & Storage Professionals (ACSP), Cabinet Makers Association (CMA) and Wood Products Manufacturers Association (WPMA). The ACSP is co-sponsor of the Cabinet & Closets Conference. The CMA is co-sponsor of the education track for Wood Pro Expo.
