TFS Regional Member’s Exhibition at Arrowmont
The Furniture Society and Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts have teamed up to provide an exhibition opportunity for TFS members. The exhibition hosts are looking for two to three artists to exhibit their work in Arrowmont’s Drown Wood Studio Gallery March 17 — May 16, 2025. All members are welcome to apply. Regional members in and around Tennessee are encouraged to apply.
Call for entry opens: September 1, 2024
Submission deadline: October 13, 2024
Application requirements:
- Participating artists must be a current member of The Furniture Society (TFS) through the time of the exhibition dates — March 17th — May 16th, 2025
- Participating artists must have a profile page on TFS’s website with a minimum of six images (including images submitted for consideration), a bio, and link to website/social media
- All work must be original and the artist must own sole copyright. Reproductions will not be accepted. Work must arrive in good condition and ready to display. All included artwork must remain in the gallery for the entirety of the exhibition.
- Artists can submit up to three images and up to three detail images from available work shown on TFS profile page. All work must be available to exhibit.
- All pieces should be able to fit through an 80” x 60” doorway (smaller preferable).
- Work needs to have been made within the last five years (2019 – 2024)
- Regional artists are encouraged to apply.

Professional Development Scholarships
The Schooner Foundation is generously supporting five scholarships for access to this October’s professional development presentation: Income Taxes for Artists & Self-Employed.

The 2025 Smithsonian Craft Show will feature America's finest artisans and celebrate their vision of what might be. It is a juried exhibition and sale of contemporary craft and design held annually in Washington DC. Three expert jurors, newly selected each year, choose 120 artists from a large pool of applicants.
Deadline: Tuesday, September 17th, 2024.
Center for Furniture Craftmanship Scholarship
In 2024, CFC expects to award approximately 18 scholarships for one-week and two-week workshops. These scholarships generally cover the full cost of tuition, but successful applicants must confirm their participation by paying the standard $90 registration fee and remain responsible for the costs of their own travel, lodging, meals, materials, and any supply fees.
To apply, please submit the following application by April 1, 2024.
Intensives & nine-month comprehensive Scholarships
In 2024, CFC can award a $4,500 scholarship for each Furniture Intensive, a $3,500 scholarship for the Turning Intensive, and up to four half-tuition ($12,750) scholarships for the Comprehensive.
Intensive scholarship applications are due three months to the day before the start of each course. Notification will be made within two weeks.
