Approximately 500 pieces of fine furniture, including three armoires and a couple of desks, from Michael Jackson’s last home in the prestigious Holmby Hills area of Los Angeles, were sold for nearly $1 million at auction on Dec. 17, according to published reports.

A burlwood veneer armoire with a beveled edged center mirror door sold for $18,750. According to Julien Auctions, located in Beverly Hills, CA, Jackson had inscribed the worlds “Train, perfection March April Full out May," on the mirror with a black felt tip pen. He was scheduled to go on tour before he died.

Other items auctioned included a Louis XVI armoire with applied carving, ormolu mounts and mirrored front doors with beveled edged glass — sold for $2,125; a French 19th century carved walnut armoire — sold for $1,250; a Hooker Seven Seas desk with attached shelving — sold for $1,408; and a Federal style secretary desk — sold for $1,408.
