MIAMI, FL - Hollywood Woodwork received the Architectural Woodwork Institute Award of Excellence for Brickell House, a luxury condominium tower, in Miami, Florida

The team members recognized for the project were: owner/developer: Newgard Development Co., Miami;  Sieger Suarez Architect firm, Miami; designer Yabu Pushelberg, Toronto/New York; general contractor John Moriarty & Associates of Hollywood; and AWI member firm Hollywood Woodwork, Hollywood, Florida.

Hollywood Woodwork announced its completion of interior finishes at the Brickell House in January. The 46-story project, among the first of the post-recession luxury condominiums, overlooks Biscayne Bay, in Downtown Miami.

The design creates “a modern Brazilian feel using North American products and wood species, and finished for the ultimate luxurious appeal,” according to Kevin Storey of Yabu Pushelberg.

Plain sliced, random matched American black walnut, finished to give the effect of Brazilian rosewood, was used in wall paneling and custom items throughout the first floor, and quartered American black walnut with the same finish was used in the upper floor amenity areas.

Hollywood Woodwork, employee owned, is headed by Yves Desmarais, Chairman and Sebastien Desmarais, president.
