Material associations call for Hurricane Helene relief for its members

The National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association (NLBMDA) and the Building Material Suppliers Association (BMSA), continue to ask for support for members impacted by Hurricane Helene. The associations said they need to raise another $10,000.

Both organizations have been deeply moved by the outpouring of support for those impacted. Members and their respective communities have suffered extensive damage and destruction from Hurricane Helene, specifically in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee.

The scale of devastation is truly beyond comprehension. In reaching out to our members affected by this calamity, they have shared heartbreaking stories of immense loss. This has prompted the question, "What can BMSA do to support you during this trying time?" Based on their feedback, BMSA has proposed two collaborative opportunities for all NLBMDA and BMSA members to extend a helping hand to one another as we navigate the aftermath of this tragedy together. Your engagement and support can make a significant difference, so let's harness our collective strength and community spirit to uplift each other, embodying the very essence of BMSA.

Financial Donations:
Government assistance has been promised, but will likely be a long time before it reaches the hands of individuals. Financial gifts made through BMSA will go directly to BMSA members' employees for their needs, whether it be to purchase supplies, begin home repairs, etc.

There are two options:

  • Send a check to BMSA.
  • Designate Hurricane Relief on the memo line
  • Mail checks to BMSA at 3029 Senna Drive, Matthews, NC 28105
  • Donate by credit card through BMSA's website at www.mybmsa.org. You'll see the Hurricane Helene donation at the top of the home page.

Whether you can afford to give $25 or $100 or more, please know your gift will be distributed to members in need. These gifts through BMSA are not tax deductible.

Supplies
Mountain Lumber in Boone is serving as a staging area for donated supplies. Relief agencies are distributing the donated supplies throughout the impacted areas. If you can deliver supplies to Mountain Lumber, contact 828-963-7525 ext. 1122.
