Massachusetts high school adds Cabinet Vision for student training
Design Software at AWFS 2013

FALL RIVER, Mass. -- Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School of Fall River has added Cabinet Vision by Vero Software to its educational toolbox and will begin training students in its carpentry-cabinetmaking program to use the software in September.

The vocational high school, which offers several courses of study in addition to woodworking, has instructed students in the carpentry-cabinetmaking program with Vero Software’s Alphacam computer-aided-manufacturing software for wood, metal, stone and glass since 2005.

Diman Regional also offers students a co-op program, through which they are able to gain experience on actual job sites. The majority of businesses that participate in the carpentry-cabinetmaking co-op program use Vero’s woodworking software.

“Most woodworking companies out there right now are using Cabinet Vision and the students who get the co-op jobs are using Alphacam and Cabinet Vision,” said Manny Botelho, head of Diman Regional’s carpentry and cabinetmaking department and junior cabinetmaking instructor. “There is a lot of demand in the workforce for people who know how to use the software.”
