TAMPA, FL – Masonite International Corporation has added yet another wood door manufacturer to its extensive portfolio, acquiring Lemieux Doors Inc. of Windsor, QC.

The acquisition of Lemieux Doors represents Masonite's fifth major buy-out since July 2011.

Lemieux Doors, best known for its wood stile and rail doors, employs approximately 150 people; annual sales exceed $40 million. The company, founded in 1991, introduced a torrefied wood door line in April. Lemieux Doors said torrefication, a process in which wood is heated at high temperatures, produces wood that combats rot and highly resistant to heat, cold and moisture.

Chris Virostek, Masonite’s senior vice president of corporate development, said, "Lemieux’s products and capabilities complement Masonite’s existing residential wood door offerings and provide an important additional platform of strategic growth for our company."

Other wood door makers acquired by Masonite, include Algoma Hardwoods, Baillargeon Doors, Birchwood Best and Marshfield DoorSystems. In addition, last July Masonite embarked on a $14 million upgrade to automate its wood door plant in Denmark, SC.
