Adam Tilley has been named VP Merchandising for Casegoods at A.R.T. Furniture, a California-based unit of Markor International, a China-based furniture manufacturer,

“As complicated as our world has become, success in our industry still boils down to people and product,” Cook says. “This company is built on high performance people with integrity. We have reinvented our entire company throughout the past three years and our growth and visibility in the industry can be directly attributed to assembling a great team with talent like Adam.

“He is a proven leader in the industry and has a vision that can inspire others. His long track record as a successful merchant in the industry is evident, as seen in leading home furnishing retailers across the country. He really understands how great design marries aesthetic and function,” Cook says. “That is what attracted us to Adam. He is a great addition to our executive team.”

Tilley will be responsible for the development and execution of the merchandising of case goods and product development process, including identifying new style trends and working closely with customers and sales management to find new opportunities and the proper product mix to meet their needs. Jon Witteveen, A.R.T. director of case goods product development, reports to Tilley.

“The vertical model of A.R.T. and Markor is second to none,” Tilley says. “Their vision for what can be done in this industry for customers and the end consumer is what led me to join the company. It is an opportunity to join a team that is poised to disrupt the style and value equation for product. I’m honored to be given the opportunity to be a part of such a group.”

Tilley previously served as vice president of products at Stanley Furniture Company. Prior experience also includes serving as director of merchandising for Thomasville Furniture Industries, as a sales representative for Henredon Furniture Industries and as a sales manager for Robb & Stucky. With a deep understanding of both the product development and the sales processes, Tilly will bring multiple perspectives to his role as vice president of merchandising.
