EXCELSIOR, MN-BlackEagle Partners acquired the Midwest operations of Lyman Lumber Company, including its Chanhassen location, Automated Building Components, Carpentry Contractors Corp., and Lyman Lumber of Wisconsin. BlackEagle paid $23.75 million in court-administered bidding.
Lyman employs more than 500 people with annual sales exceeding $100 million. Headquartered in Excelsior, Minnesota, serves homebuilders and professional remodelers with a full-suite of building materials and services.
BlackEagle Partners is the owner of US LBM Holdings, a collection of eight building products distributors serving the Midwest, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic in nine states with more than 40 locations. US LBM has been acquiring suppliers of building products in the United States at a steady clip, with seven acquisitions since 2010.

In October 2009, BlackEagle sponsored the creation of US LBM Holdings initially for the acquisition of three markets out of Stock Building Supply, the second largest lumber and building material distributor in the United States. In January 2010, US LBM acquired Universal Supply Company entering the New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware markets. US LBM is headed by L.T. Gibson, former VP of the largest division of Stock Building Supply, which had roughly $1.5B in annual sales.
