ARBOR VITAE, Wis. - An employee of a Wisconsin lumber company was killed early last week after getting trapped in a belt conveyor.

Emergency responders found Joshua Drinkman, 30, of Pukall Lumber Company, dead upon arrival. Investigators say it is unclear how Drinkman became ensnared in the conveyor. It is believed to have been an accident.

OSHA is set to investigate. Pukall says it hasn't had an on-site death in more than 40 years.

Pukall Lumber is one of the largest pine lumber mills in Wisconsin. It says it's among the premier lumber and building supply businesses in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. The company saws primarily red and white pine logs into dimension lumber for the construction industry, as well as some hardwoods such as ash, maple, red oak, birch and elm.
