PICTURE ROCKS, PA — Dwight Lewis Lumber (DLL) and Lewis Lumber Products (LLP) have installed four new murals by local artist Michael Pilato and co-painter Alida Frey on the companies' building in Picture Rocks, PA.
Installed in September, the murals highlight the local history of Picture Rocks and were commissioned by DLL and LLP owners Marc and Mel Lewis, who noted that their father, company founder Dwight Lewis, had been instrumental in bringing Pilato to the area. The artist has received recognition for a number of his works, including murals in Williamsport and State College.
The four murals on the building feature an original settler of Picture Rocks (Amos Burrows), a local woodworker (Louis Gansell), a famous artist from Picture Rocks (John Wesley Little), and Dwight Lewis himself.
Dwight Lewis Lumber was founded in 1941 and Lewis Lumber Products was formed from that company in 1995. LLP manufactures fine hardwood and softwood mouldings, paneling, flooring, decking and lumber.
