SEOUL -- Antidumping duties in the range of 5% to 38% have been imposed against Malaysian plywood manufacturers by the Korean Trade Commission (KTC)  for the next three years.

According to the Malaysian Star, the KTC's decision Dec 15 was climaxed its investigation into complaints by the Korean Wood Panel Association (KWPA) that nine Malaysian plywood exporters were allegedly selling their products to Korean wood products manufacturers below their production costs, harming South Korean plywood manufacturers in the process.

Duties imposed on eight of the companies range between 5.12% and 9.75%. The duty on Sinora Sdn Bhd was set at 38.1%.

The duties are expected to take effect within 50 days of the KTC's decision.
