GRAND RAPIDS — Hardware manufacturer Knape & Vogt announced that it has acquired GSlide Corp., located in Taipei, Taiwan.
GSlide is a designer, manufacturer and marketer of sliding system products servicing distributors and manufacturers in Asia, Europe and North America. GSlide has been a component supplier to Knape & Vogt since June of 2007.
“The acquisition of GSlide provides Knape & Vogt with a manufacturing presence in Asia for leading-edge, tight tolerance drawer slide products” said Peter Martin, president and CEO of Knape & Vogt. “The capability and reputation for product innovation and new product technology they have developed will further support our top strategic initiative of new product development. These benefits, coupled with their reach into new sales markets to service customers outside of North America, make this a great strategic addition to our company.”
Paul Chen, owner and president of GSlide, will join Knape & Vogt as Director of Asian Operations. According to Knape & Vogt, the acquisition of GSlide will have no impact on the company’s manufacturing operations in Grand Rapids and integration activities are in process.
