JASPER, IN – Kimball Intl reported net $347.8 million in sales for the second fiscal quarter of 2008, which is up 6% from the prior year period.
Net sales increased 4% in the furniture segment and 8% in the EMS segment versus the same period a year ago. Consolidated second quarter gross profit as a percent of net sales declined compared to last year due to customer pricing pressures, supply chain cost increases in the furniture segment, excess capacity, costs and inefficiencies in the EMS segment and a shift in sales between the segments.
