MORGANTON, N.C. – Kellex Seating, a manufacturer and supplier of upholstered furniture, will invest $3 million in its 158,856-square-foot plant, creating 32 jobs and retaining 166 – all thanks to a $400,000 grant. The grant, from the North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) will allow Kellex to reuse the manufacturing site.
Kellex says it will start interviewing for the new positions in May, with an emphasis on experience in case goods, CNC machining, engineering, assembly, finishing and exposed woodworking upholstery, according to a release from the company.
In addition to Morganton, Kellex has manufacturing facilities in Valdese, North Carolina and Tupelo, Mississippi. It currently employs 300 workers company-wide.
