KCMA: August cabinet sales gain 4.4 percent over previous August

RESTON, Va. -- An increase in cabinet sales of 4.4 percent for August 2018 compared to the same month in 2017 was reported by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association.

According to the KCMA’s monthly Trend of Business Survey, participating cabinet manufacturers reported that stock sales increased 5.1 percent; semi-custom sales increased 3.1 percent; and custom sales increased 6.2 percent compared to August 2017.

Compared to last month (July 2018), sales are up 8.3 percent. Stock sales are up 8.4 percent compared to July; semi-custom increased 9.5 percent; and custom is up 4.2 percent after a large drop from June to July.

Year-to-date cabinetry sales through August 2018 are up 1.8 percent according to participating manufacturers. Stock sales are up 3.5 percent; semi-custom sales are down 0.5 percent; and custom sales are up 4.2 percent so far this year.

Survey participants include stock, semi-custom, and custom companies,  companies that belong to KCMA represent combined sales of approximately 70 percent of the U.S. kitchen cabinet and bath vanity market.

All major U.S. cabinet manufacturing companies belong to KCMA. Sixty-three percent of KCMA cabinet manufacturer members report sales below $10 million annually, reflecting the importance of small manufacturers in the industry. See http://www.kcma.org
