WINNFIELD, LA --Jeld-Wen Inc., an Oregon-based window and door manufacturer, plans to build an $85 million plant in central Louisiana, employing 75 people when it opens in 2008, according to The Associated Press. Company officials and Gov. Kathleen Blanco announced the plans Nov. 28 in Winnfield, LA. Construction of the facility will create 300 temporary jobs, Blanco's office said.
Jeld-Wen is privately held and has more than 20,000 employees in 50 divisions worldwide. The Winnfield factory will be the company's sixth fiber plant and its biggest single investment ever in a new facility. Read more.
