PANAMA CITY, Fl. - Lumber and wood crating manufacturer Conner Industries will transfer operations from its Panama City, Florida facility to a new building in the city.

The move was prompted by irreparable property damage sustained during Hurricane Michael in 2018. It's also an expansion.

“We’re excited about moving our Panama City plant to a new location,” says David Dixon, CEO of Conner Industries. “This move to an improved facility, on the heels of a very challenging time for our industry, just proves that Conner is continuing to grow and confirms Conner’s place as an industry leader.”

The new facility boasts a main building of nearly 23,000 square feet of office and assembly area, along with more than 16,000 additional square feet of enclosed storage. The entire facility is contained on a nearly 5-acre fenced lot, and will continue to be one of Conner’s primary external packaging products assembly locations.

“In a rapidly changing packaging landscape, this new location in Panama City allows us to better align our services with our customer demands,” says Mike Huggins, VP Corporate Strategy. “Relocating this plant after spending ten years at our previous location gives us the opportunity to continue working with our great customers in Florida, and provide a better work environment for our employees, while expanding our manufacturing capabilities to meet the growing needs of the Panama City market.”

Conner has seen major growth over the past few years. The company has opened four new plants since early 2019. In total it operates 14 facilities across 10 U.S. states, employing more than 850 workers.

Conner specializes in supplying cut lumber (softwoods, hardwoods, and panel products) needed for pallets, crates, and skid parts, fully assembled custom pallets, crates, and engineered packaging solutions.
