ZEELAND, MI -- Herman Miller Inc. has once again been recognized as a leader in corporate sustainability and community involvement by both The Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World), and the state of Michigan's Neighborhood Environmental Partners Program (NEP).
This marks the eighth consecutive year Herman Miller has been placed on the DJSI World and the third straight year earning an NEP award.
DJSI World is an international stock portfolio that evaluates the annual performance of the world's largest 2,500 companies using economic, environmental, and social criteria, known as the "triple bottom line" of sustainability. Herman Miller is the only contract office furniture manufacturer selected.
The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ)'s NEP award recognizes organizations and their community partners that have developed outstanding, ongoing community outreach programs to improve the environment in their neighborhood. Herman Miller's community partners include the West Michigan Environmental Action Council, West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum, Habitat for Humanity, and several school districts in West Michigan.
