The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Hammary Furniture, announced a voluntary recall of approximately 7,000 wood chests and tables for violating federal lead paint safety regulations.

Hammary of Lenoir, NC, imported the furniture from the Philippines, Vietnam and China. It was sold at major department stores and furniture retail stores from November 2001 through November 2009 for between $200 and $900.

No incidents or injuries have been reported. 

Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the recalled furniture, keep young children away from it and contact Hammary to receive a free replacement.
