OSSEO, WI — GFS has invested in a new turret press for its sheet metal processes, a move which the company says will reduce its environmental impact, while increasing production efficiencies. The Murata Motorum Servo-Drive turret press, is 100% electrically operated, and uses approximately 70% less energy than other turrets with similar capabilities, GFS claims. Also, GFS says the use of servomotors in place of hydraulics reduces the environmental impact of the turret’s operation. The new turret has been installed in the company’s Osseo, WI, facility.
