Furniture manufacturer looking to relocate

HIGH POINT, N.C. — Beaufurn, an American furniture company, specializing in commercial indoor and outdoor contract and hospitality furniture, met with the City of High Point on Feb. 17, to request funding for a manufacturing project. The project, named Project Fern, would relocate the company from Welcome, North Carolina to High Point and create 57 new jobs.

If approved, the company would receive performance-based incentives for $45,600 over five years. These incentives will grow the company, which anticipates a new property investment of $929,000, interior renovations, and machinery and equipment to accommodate furniture manufacturing.

The source of those funds would be the City’s Economic Development Incentive Fund, which is funded by general and electric revenues. City Council has been requested to approve the incentives for the project and authorize the appropriate City Official(s) to execute all necessary documents.
