Former industry veteran Arthur “Gene” Hansen dead at 63
CONCORD, NC – Arthur Eugene “Gene” Hansen, 63, of Concord, NC, died Saturday, Aug. 15, at his home after a nine-year battle with cancer, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Hansen spent much of his professional life in the woodworking industry, and was a past vice president/general manager of Fletcher Machine Co., a regional sales manager with Vance Publishing’s Décor division, and most recently, regional sales manager at WATT Publishing Co. He also served in the U.S. Marines and U.S. Army Reserves.

Born in High Point, NC, on June 28, 1946, to Betty Hansen and the late Arthur Hansen, he is survived by his wife, Mary Stiles Hansen, and children: Amy Hansen Chiott; Chad Hansen and wife, Jamie Cooke Hansen; Graham Stiles and wife, Karen Humphrey Stiles; and Sterling Stiles and fiancée Pattie Huggins. His mother and stepfather, Betty and Eddie Taylor, and several grandchildren also survive him.
