Former Gubernatorial Candidate Saxton to Join Jeld-Wen

KLAMATH FALLS, OR-- Jeld-Wen, a window and door manufacturer, has hired two-time candidate for Oregon governor Ron Saxton to fill a new post as senior vice president of external affairs, according to the Statesman Journal. The company’s principals were major donors to Saxton’s campaign.

“While I will not be pursuing elected office again, this new position will allow me to remain active in Oregon’s civic affairs,” Saxton said in a prepared statement.

Saxton lost the GOP primary for governor in 2002 and lost to Democrat Ted Kulongoski in the 2006 governor’s race. He is a founding partner and former chairman of the Ater Wynne law firm in Portland, and will remain as an adviser to the firm. As a corporate lawyer, he was highly involved with many government regulatory and other functions.
