EUMABOIS, the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers, recently met with Russian wood products leaders during the Forestry Forum in St. Petersburg.
EUMABOIS President Franz-Josef Bütfering met with Ilja Klebanov, the respresentative of the Russian president for the North-Western District Russia, as well as other representatives of the Russian Forestry to exchange views.
According to EUMABOIS' press release, Bütfering pointed out that the main problem European Woodworking Machine Manufacturers are experiencing in Russia is finding banks that will finance machinery and plant investments.
All parties involved agreed that Russia, with its large wood resources, has potential to develop more lumber and panel plants, as well as building new secondary wood products operations to produce furniture, flooring and more.
