ONTARIO, Canada – The Canadian Woodworking Machinery Distributors Association announced that nine of its members, including eight with showrooms in the greater Toronto area, are joining together to present Woodworking Technology Days.

The three-day event scheduled for Oct. 22-24 is being launched in response to the cancellation of the International Woodworking Fair. IWF organizers announced June 11 that North America's largest woodworking event would not take place as scheduled Aug. 22-25 in Atlanta due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

CWMDA is promoting the event as “your opportunity to have an efficient and significant overview of the latest technology available from the top manufacturers worldwide. Combining our extensive showrooms means that you can feel and touch a lot of different machines and see a variety of impressive demos.”

Each of the eight participating showrooms will host visitors from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. They include:

  • Akhurst, Mississauga;
  • Biesse, Mississauga;
  • Felder, Mississauga;
  • Homag, Mississauga;
  • IMA-Schelling, Mississauga;
  • Normand, Cambridge;
  • SCM, Mississauga; and
  • Taurus Craco/Weinig-Holz-Her, Brampton.

The three-day event is supported by FS Tool, Jowat adhesives, Leitz tooling, Planit software, Royce/Ayr tooling and SIA abrasives.

Information about individual member’s plans at their showrooms, including technology demonstrations, will be available at their respective websites.

CWMDA said each location will abide by all safety and health rules mandated by local or provincial authorities related to COVID-19.

There is no cost to attend the event. Learn more and register.
