EFFINGHAM, Il. - John Boos & Co., a manufacturer of cutting boards, butcher blocks and kitchen furniture, will open a $16 million manufacturing facility in Effingham, Illinois.
The new 116,000-square-foot facility will produce a variety of Boos cutting boards, as well as both commercial and industrial countertops. The new plant will be located inside a 27-acre campus that includes the company's existing facility and headquarters.
The company will celebrate the facility's grand opening with the production of its 13 millionth butcher block. All of the company's 240 employees will be present.
“Effingham area craftsmen and women have been dedicated to refining the art of making Boos boards since 1887," said company president Joe Emmerich. We are committed to making our products right here, where we were founded."
John Boos produces cutting boards, butcher blocks, kitchen furniture, countertops, surfaces, work tables, shelves, racks, and stands.
