Composite Panel Assn. forms Industry Biomass Council
LEESBURG, VA -- The Composite Panel Association has formed the Industry Biomass Council (IBC) "to effectively monitor and positively influence government regulations to ensure a sustainable, cost-effective wood supply for the composite panel industry.”

The IBC, chaired by TJ Rosengarth of Flakeboard, will focus on the impact of U.S. natural resource and energy (biomass) policies on the composite wood panel industry supply chain. Participants appointed by the CPA Executive Committee include executives of Ashley Furniture, Bush Industries, Clarion, Collins Products, Flakeboard, Hexion, Kimball, Roseburg, Sauder, SEEMAC and Uniboard.

In addition, CPA is forming a more broadly based Wood Fiber Coalition (WFC), which will include members of the CPA and IBC as well as representation from trade groups and companies with interests compatible to those of the composite panel industry.

The IBC is planning a meeting in Washington, DC, in early August in conjunction with the organizational meeting of the WFC.
