GREENSBORO, NC - Columbia Forest Products announced the indefinite idling of its Rutherglen, ON, decorative face veneer mill commencing in April 2010.
The action will result in the layoff of approximately 70 workers, according to BayToday. The paper said Columbia Forest Products cited the recession and increased competition from imported Chinese birch wood products as the major reasons for the decision to idle the plant.
