LOS ANGELES - Upholstered furniture and casegoods supplier Cisco Brothers Corp. has acquired Environment, a manufacturer of contemporary-style furniture. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

According to the Dec. 2 announcement, both Los Angeles-based companies specialize in producing eco-friendly, handcrafted furniture. All materials used in Environment's collections are reclaimed, recycled or repurposed wood and canvas, while all wood in Cisco's products is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified.

"We are extremely excited to be acquiring this uniquely Angeleno company. It's allowing us to do something a bit different, while continuing to design and create for the Environment customer. We look forward to incorporating aspects of the Cisco brand, like ensuring that everything that is sold through Environment is in line with Cisco Brothers' values," said Cisco Pinedo, CEO of Cisco Brothers.

Environment will keep its name and continue to produce its products under the umbrella of Cisco Brothers.
