GLENDALE, OR -- A Swanson Group sawmill that was set to close this week received a three-month reprieve via receipt of an order for 20 million board feet of lumber from China.
According to the Daily Courier, the large order is expected to keep about half of the company's 57 workers employed into early next year.
The other employees will reportedly be given jobs at the plywood and veneer operation in Glendale, joining 180 collegues, or Swanson's sawmill in Noti, OR.
