MURRAY COUNTY, Ga. - Chinese flooring company Huali Floors will invest $27 million in its first U.S. headquarters north of Atlanta. The expansion should create at least 315 jobs in the area.

Established in 2002, Huali Floors says it is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of resilient flooring - providing wood plastic composite flooring, vinyl tiles, stone plastic composite, and more. The company employs more than 2,000 workers in total, with revenues "in excess of $360 million."

"The strong flooring community that the Northwest Georgia area embodies was a determining factor in our commitment, and we want to be part of that spirit," said Philip Yuan, Huali president. "We, Huali Floors, are very excited and proud to be able to call Murray County our USA home and become an active member, as we saw and felt the strength of the community through the project process. We look forward to growing here in Northwest Georgia and are committed to investing and supporting our new community.”

Chinese cabinetmaker GoldenHome will officially invest $86 million in a new manufacturing plant and North American headquarters near Charlotte, North Carolina. The investment will create 257 jobs.

“We are excited to welcome Huali Floors to Murray County,” said Georgia Governor Brian Kemp. “It’s a testament to Georgia’s logistics network and readily available workforce when an innovative company like Huali Floors chooses Georgia to establish their first U.S. manufacturing operation.

Jobs at the new facility will include administration, manufacturing, and research and development positions.

In November, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative granted a temporary exclusion to a 25 percent tariff on vinyl tile flooring, one of Huali's main products. Since then, three Chinese vinyl tiling firms have invested in Georgia.

Georgia is a leading exporter among U.S. states for floor covering products - exporting $485.4 million worth of products in 2019.
