CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte-based custom furniture maker Brown Dog Wood Company was robbed of thousands of dollars worth of tools last weekend.

Two thieves were spotted on shop surveillance Sunday night using a grinder to cut a hole in the building's side door. It took them about 20 minutes to crawl inside. Once in, they used flashlights to quickly locate the shop's tools, tossing them outside.

Company founder Shawn Weathers told Fox46 News that the robbers seemed to know exactly where the tools were. They left the shop quickly.

The search is ongoing for the suspects.

Brown Wood obviously relies on the stolen tools, and losing them is a great setback. The business is currently working on several orders.

The business of eight specializes in handcrafted furniture made from reclaimed wood. Find out more about them here.
