LIVONIA, Mich. – Local politicians, and Cabinetworks Group's leadership, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the official grand opening of the company’s new headquarters in Livonia, Michigan, on December 7. Workers have been on site for two months in the 90,000-sq. ft. facility that replaced an aging facility in Ann Arbor.

The headquarters, located at 20000 Victor Parkway, includes workstations for over 200 corporate employees and serves as the hub from which the company will lead its more than 8,000 employees nationwide.   The building, which previously had been a healthcare facility, received significant renovation and improvements to modernize the space and incorporate amenities for employees, including a fitness center and yoga room, a café, grab-and-go food service, and a training center for employee meetings and customer events.

The main common area, known as ‘Downtown,’ includes three highly functional and beautiful display kitchens in which employees and visitors can interact with and learn about the company’s products. The building also incorporates the latest technology to facilitate teamwork and collaboration across Cabinetworks Group’s network of operations, which includes 18 manufacturing facilities throughout the United States.

John Barkhouse, Cabinetworks Group Chief Executive Officer, said, “Our new headquarters is more than just a building. It represents a fresh perspective as we join together in a collaborative environment where people can connect in person, innovate, and live our core values as a strong, unified team. I am excited about the future of this business and our company as we continue to transform and grow with a customer-first focus.”

According to a Platinum Equity press release, the building currently houses 240 employees, ranging from customer care support to business operations jobs. Morelli said the building can house up to 280 employees.

Cabinetworks is the largest independently owned manufacturer and distributor of kitchen and bath cabinets in the U.S. The company currently has more than 8,000 employees nationwide.

Platinum Equity acquired Cabinetworks in 2021.

Because of the addition of new employees and job training programs, the move qualified for state assistance. In August, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Michigan officials announced that the move adds 110 corporate and professional service jobs to Livonia. The state awarded the company a $600,000 grant as part of the expansion.
