RESTON, Va. - Cabinet sales rose 7.2% in July 2021 compared to 2020 figures, continuing the trend of year-over-year sales growth for the industry. According to participating members in the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association's monthly Trend of Business Survey, custom sales were up 10.3%, semi-custom dipped 1.1% and stock sales increased 12.5%.

The numbers weren't as bullish in the month-to-month comparison, KCMA noted. Overall sales decreased 11.5% in July compared to June 2021. Custom sales were down 15.1%, semi-custom sales dropped 17.2%, and stock sales decreased 6.6%.

However, 2021 sales remain strong compared to last year. The Trend of Business Survey shows overall year-to-date cabinet sales were up 18.3% when compared to the same time period in 2020. Custom sales were up 21.5%, semi-custom sales increased 17.6% and stock sales increased 18.1%.

The KCMA Trend of Business Survey participants include stock, semi-custom, and custom companies whose combined sales represent approximately 75% of the U.S. kitchen cabinet and bath vanity market. KCMA is a major trade association for kitchen cabinet and bath vanity manufacturers and key suppliers of goods and services to the industry. The association has been compiling and reporting industry sales data for more than 40 years.
